ERRATA
The June 15, 2003, article by Fukuoka et al entitled, "Multi-Institutional Randomized Phase II Trial of Gefitinib for Previously Treated Patients With Advanced Non–Small-Cell Lung Cancer" (J Clin Oncol 21:2237-2246, 2003) contained three errors.
The title of the article should be, "Multi-Institutional Randomized Phase II Trial of Gefitinib for Previously Treated Patients With Advanced Non–Small-Cell Lung Cancer (The IDEAL 1 Trial)"
In the Patients and Methods section of the abstract, the second sentence should read, "Two hundred ten patients with advanced NSCLC who were previously treated with one or two chemotherapy regimens (at least one containing platinum) were randomly assigned to receive either 250-mg or 500-mg oral doses of gefitinib once daily."
A sentence in the first column and first full paragraph of page 2243 mistakenly reads, "Of all the drug-related AEs reported, CTC G3 or G4 was seen in only 1.5% of patients receiving 250 mg/d and in 4.7% of those receiving 500 mg/d; no G4 drug-related AEs were reported at 250 mg/d." The corrected sentence should read, "Of all the drug-related AEs reported, only 1.5% were G3/4 for patients on 250 mg/d and 4.7% for those on 500 mg/d; G4 drug-related AEs were reported at 250 mg/d. CTC grade 3/4 drug-related AEs occurred in 8.7% patients receiving 250 mg/d and 30.2% patients on 500 mg/d; no G4 drug-related AEs were reported at 250 mg/d."
