ERRATUM

The December 15, 2004, article by Lipton et al entitled, "Refining the Amsterdam Criteria and Bethesda Guidelines: Testing Algorithms for the Prediction of Mismatch Repair Mutation Status in the Familial Cancer Clinic" (J Clin Oncol 22:4934-4943, 2004) contained an error in Table 3.

The last entry in Table 3 mistakenly reads, "CRC with two or more first- or second-degree relatives with CRC or other HNPCC-related tumor (regardless of age), including cancer (endometrial, stomach, ovarian, cervical, esophageal, leukemia, thyroid, bladder, ureter and renal pelvis, biliary tract, small bowel, breast, pancreas, liver, larynx, bronchus, lung, and brain (glioblastoma), sebaceous gland adenomas, and keratoacanthomas."

The correct entry should read, "CRC diagnosed with one or more first-degree relatives with an HNPCC-related tumor (colorectal, endometrial, stomach, ovarian, pancreas, bladder, ureter and renal pelvis, biliary tract, brain (usually glioblastoma as seen in Turcot Syndrome), sebaceous bland adenomas and keratoacanthomas in Muir-Torre syndrome, and carcinoma of the small bowel), with one of the cancers being diagnosed under age 50 years, OR CRC diagnosed in two or more first or second degree relatives with HNPCC-related tumor, regardless of age."
