ERRATUM
The April 20, 2005, article by Rockall et al, titled, "Diagnostic Performance of Nanoparticle-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the Diagnosis of Lymph Node Metastases in Patients With Endometrial and Cervical Cancer" (J Clin Oncol 23:2813-2821, 2005) contained an error in nomenclature.
The specific investigational drug (generic name: ferumoxtran-10; trade names: Combidex® in the US, Sinerem® in Europe) used in this clinical trial was frequently called by the acronym USPIO (ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide), a chemical class name. Ferumoxtran-10 should have been used consistently to refer to the results obtained with this specific drug. The generic name should have been used in the discussion, except where the statements being made are known to be true for the entire class of contrast agents.
