The Full Text version of the March 20, 2005 article by Meyers et al, entitled "Osteosarcoma: A Randomized, Prospective Trial of the Addition of Ifosfamide and/or Muramyl Tripeptide to Cisplatin, Doxorubicin, and High-Dose Methotrexate" (J Clin Oncol 23:2004–2011, 2005) was published online on March 20, 2005 with a software error that caused certain symbols to be incorrectly displayed. The following were affected in some instances:

- (minus)
x (multiplication)
≤ (less than or equal to)
≥ (greater than or equal to)
λ (lower case Greek lamda)
χ (lower case Greek chi)

In particular, the greater than or equal to sign (≥) inadvertently replaced the less than or equal to sign (≤) in the following instances:

1) Under the Patient Selection heading of the Patients and Methods section, the third to the last sentence read:

Patients had to have adequate renal function, as defined by serum creatinine ≥ 1.5 x normal or creatinine clearance more than 40 mL/min/m2 or more than 70 mL/min/1.73 m2; adequate hepatic function, as defined by bilirubin ≥ 1.5 x normal and AST or ALT ≥ 2.5 x normal….

Whereas it should have read:

Patients had to have adequate renal function, as defined by serum creatinine ≤ 1.5 x normal or creatinine clearance more than 40 mL/min/m2 or more than 70 mL/min/1.73 m2; adequate hepatic function, as defined by bilirubin ≤ 1.5 x normal and AST or ALT ≤ 2.5 x normal….

2) In Table 2, under the Characteristic column heading, ≥ 8 cm was given for the p value of .0044, and ≥ 6 cm was given for the p value of .0041, whereas it should have read ≤ 8 cm and ≤ 6 cm respectively.

All corrections have been made as of September 3, 2005. The PDF and print versions did not contain any of these errors, and are correct as published.
