Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA The SMART Study Group We appreciate and acknowledge that the Nicholson et al abstract presented at the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in New Orleans, LA, May 20-23, 20001 indeed accurately predicted the outcome of our large, well-powered study.2 We could and would, however, not refer to their predictive results as these had not been fully published in a peer-reviewed journal, due to the lack of completeness which Nicholson claims. Unfortunately, both their study and our study have been unable to show a survival benefit for females with ovarian cancer treated with intraperitoneal radioimmunotherapy. However, with transparent and complete disclosure of all the information, we still hope to benefit patients in the longer term. Authors' Disclosures of Potential Conflicts of Interest
