ERRATUM

ERRATUM

The August 1, 2008, Statistics in Oncology article by Dodd et al entitled, "Blinded Independent Central Review of Progression-Free Survival in Phase III Clinical Trials: Important Design Element or Unnecessary Expense?" (J Clin Oncol 26:3791–3796, 2008) contained errors.

In Table 1, under Per Central Review and Per Local Review, the hazard ratios and confidence intervals were inadvertently transposed for the bevacizumab plus paclitaxel v paclitaxel breast cancer trial.

Table 1. Trials That Have Used Retrospective Blinded Independent Central Reviews

Also in Table 1, the column providing discrepancy rates was inaccurate. The corrected table is reprinted below in its entirety, including two new columns for the discrepancy rates.

In Figure 1, part A, the labels were inadvertently transposed for "Observed curve" and "Expected curve without informative censoring."

In the References section, reference 11 was inaccurate and should have been:

Genentech: Bevacizumab Briefing Book: Oncology Drugs Advisory Committee Meeting. South San Francisco, CA, December 5, 2007, pp 65, 73. http://www.fda.gov/OHRMS/DOCKETS/ac/07/briefing/2007-4332b1-03-Genentech.pdf

Also, reference 20a was inadvertently omitted and should have been:

US Food and Drug Administration, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research: Table 11. Medical review of lapatinib ditosylate. Application No. 022059, approval date: March 13, 2007. http://www.fda.gov/cder/foi/nda/2007/022059s000TOC.htm

The online version has been corrected in departure from the print.
