JCO Pages Are Increasing; JCO to Take a Systematic Approach to Journal Growth

Throughout 2005, JCO has seen a dramatic increase in the number of high-quality manuscript submissions. This has been the logical outcome of the many improvements made to JCO, including the launch of the JCO Special Series and the new online submission and peer review system. In turn, the number of pages published in JCO has increased to ensure that readers derive full benefit from the publication of these papers.

In the short term, the increase in papers necessitates the creation of larger issues to ensure the shortest possible time from acceptance to print publication. The Editors, in consultation with the Editorial Board and ASCO Publications Committee, are undertaking several initiatives to return JCO to an optimal size while maintaining the quality that readers expect and a turnaround time that authors appreciate.
